Hi Students,

Today, you took your Africa Map Test and we started learning about Africa’s ethnic groups.  As you worked in your centers, you learned about the Bantu, Arab, Swahili, and Ashanti – their language, religion, what part of Africa they lived in, and many other interesting facts.  We will continue our exploration on Tuesday (Monday is a holiday – enjoy).  There is also an opportunity for EXTRA CREDIT.  The criteria and rubric was given to you with your packets.  Your choices were:  African Folktale, African Tribal Mask, and Kente Cloth.  I am attaching information about what each colors represent for the Kente Cloth.  If you decide (and I hope you do) to do the extra credit, it is due on Wednesday – I can’t wait to see your presentation.
