Today students continued their study of the African Slave trade by visiting the library exhibit- Bunce Island. Students were given a scavenger hunt to complete while reading about the history of Bunce Island. Yesterday, our class took Cornell Notes on the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade and tomorrow we will continue our learning by reading The Middle Passage – A Slave Narrative.
I am a bit behind on grading due to conference week but will hopefully have the students center packets graded which they did while learning about the African Ethnic Groups (3 day lesson) and will also finish grading their “extra mile” projects. The projects look wonderful and the students will get to share their projects with their classmates: African Masks and Kente Cloths.
HW: None tonight but a project announcement will be made shortly!
I have so enjoyed meeting with all your parents during conference week.
